1st Day of Kindergarten Eve

Boy oh boy, there's no turning back now. Tomorrow my baby will march off to be a Wild Thing in Mrs. Breehne's kindergarten class.
Yesterday, I experienced my first breakdown. We were picking out her pjs for bed before her first day, and I insisted she wear the pink little nightgown her daddy has always loved to see her in. It used to be a full-length gown, now it's a nightshirt. But when Millie was tiny and her gowns would bunch up, she would wiggle until it settled back down into place. Couldn't help but let a few tears escape. Luckily, Daddy was there to comfort me, and of course, Millie jumped into my arms and told me she'd always be my little girl.
Her clothes are picked out and pressed, shoes polished, papers signed, diabetes kit packed. Jitter glitter ready to go.
Today will be a "girlie day" with lunch and manis and pedis and then hopefully off to an early slumber.
Dear Millie, You are the daughter I always dreamed of. I pray your first day is fabulous and that you will always strive to be your very best, not for me, for Him. Love you, sweet baby girl! Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you!
Now let's get ready for a "Wild" year!
